Introduction

In recent years, the frequency and intensity of natural disasters have increased in Japan, and the spread of disaster prevention awareness has become an important issue in order to protect regional safety. In response to this situation, an “enlightenment event to promote awareness of disaster prevention” was held to enable local residents to be more prepared and respond appropriately. This article introduces several of those events.

Play disaster prevention project

The purpose of the play disaster prevention project is to create opportunities for people who are not very interested in disaster prevention to learn about disaster prevention through fun experiences that everyone can participate in and want to go. While enjoying the event, you can gain the wisdom and experience necessary to "help yourself and help others" in an emergency.

In the field of disaster prevention, I believe that many people think that "the area where I live has never been involved in a disaster, so I don't need to raise awareness of disaster prevention", "I am confident that I can live in the place I evacuate to", and "I will think about it after suffering damage". It is a difficult problem to tackle, and I feel that it is difficult to raise awareness because the magnitude of natural disasters cannot be predicted.

However, in the play disaster prevention project, we are working to multiply disaster prevention with play. This play disaster prevention project aims to raise awareness of disaster prevention by making it "disaster prevention x play".

1. Content of the project

Disaster prevention athletic meet

“The disaster prevention athletic meet is a new athletic meet that incorporates disaster prevention knowledge into the athletic meet. While retaining the fun of an athletic meet, you can acquire knowledge and wisdom about disaster prevention and learn the importance of helping yourself and helping others.

There are four characteristics that the competition achieves to raise awareness of disaster prevention.

①Experience disaster prevention divided into 5 phases

At the disaster prevention athletic meet, disaster prevention is divided into 5 phases, and you can experience the competition according to each phase: "preparation / disaster occurrence / immediate after disaster / evacuation life / life reconstruction".

2. Enjoy learning about disaster prevention while moving your body

Focus on fun, deliver disaster prevention to people who don't know. The Disaster Prevention Sports Festival is a disaster prevention event that everyone, regardless of age or gender, can participate in while having fun. It can be enjoyed as a company recreation, and employees' families can also participate. Creating opportunities for people who do not know anything to become interested in disaster prevention

(3) Local production for local defense, customizing the competition according to the region and participants

Disaster countermeasures vary depending on the region, the surrounding environment, and relationships with family members and neighbors. It is necessary to customize and create an original competition depending on whether it is an area with a high frequency of earthquakes, an area with many typhoons, a disaster in the family, or a disaster at work.

④Disaster prevention as team building

The disaster prevention athletic meet is a "fun" disaster prevention that is perfect for team building. Each competition is given a strategy time, during which participants discuss countermeasures against unanswered disasters.

As I mentioned at the beginning, in the field of disaster prevention, it is difficult to imagine the damage, and I don't know what to learn first. However, at IKUSA Co., Ltd., we have combined the familiar event "athletic festival" from childhood with "disaster prevention", which is difficult to imagine the damage.

2. Athletic event

①Disaster prevention quiz rally

This is a quiz about disaster prevention given by the staff who planned it, and the participants guessed the answer from the options in the quiz.

A feature of this competition is that participants can answer only 10 seconds. This is because when you are actually involved in a disaster, you have to think and act quickly when you need to protect yourself or evacuate. In order to protect the safety of yourself and your family, you can learn that it is important to quickly give an answer within 10 seconds and guide the optimal action. The content of the quiz itself is also very useful, so you can make use of it.

② Disaster prevention obstacle relay

This is a competition that assumes that you are involved in a disaster, clears several obstacles, and aims for the goal. For example, there is a foot-relief mat on the floor that is supposed to be rubble, and it is assumed that if you walk on it like that, you will get injured. To overcome this problem, make slippers out of newspapers on the long desk. In the event of a disaster, rubble is scattered and you can learn that there is a possibility of getting injured, and you can see that it is important to wear safe shoes and evacuate.

Also, there is a fire extinguisher filled with water, and if you knock down a fire-like obstacle, you can clear it. If you don't know the correct procedure for using a fire extinguisher, the water won't come out. Fire extinguishers are rarely used in practice. However, when there is still a fire in front of you, you can eliminate the fact that the fire has grown because you do not know how to use the fire extinguisher. And it will be an opportunity to understand the range of the fire extinguisher. If it is too close to the fire itself, there is a risk of getting burned, and if it is too far away, the chemical will not reach and the fire will not be extinguished.

③ Disaster prevention borrowed item relay

This is a competition in which the staff selects a tool that matches the theme of the disaster pattern. These tools are cardboard, newspapers, buckets, etc., which are usually around us. Useful when you are stuck in your home or office.

Specifically, the theme given by the staff is "I was affected by the disaster on a cold day that it snowed. Please take action to warm your body!" In that case, the participants have to make the best cold weather goods using the tools around them. The Youtube introduction PV was to cover the body with newspaper and tie a tie to fix it. . It's not easy to create a tool that protects your ideas while it's hard to think in the cold. However, by experiencing the disaster prevention athletic meet, I was able to learn the process of coming up with such an idea, so I think I will be able to think and create ideas even when I am actually affected by a disaster. It was also an opportunity to learn that the tools around us are important items to protect our own lives.

This competition assumes that 24 hours have passed since the disaster occurred. I think the content is less urgent than when a disaster occurs, but appropriate decisions and actions are required.

④ Evacuation site gesture game

This is a competition where you assume a storage place for supplies and ask them to bring the missing items. We use gestures to convey what is missing here. In this competition, it is necessary for the person making the gesture to quickly judge what is missing, to convey it with an appropriate gesture, and to accurately judge what the gesture means and what the person who is bringing it is waiting for.

This competition is a useful game when 72 hours or about 3 days have passed since a disaster occurred. I think that I can make use of it at the time of activities in the event of a disaster.

Disaster Prevention and Safety Association "Disaster Prevention Event"

Earthquakes and disasters such as the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the Great Kumamoto Earthquake have triggered disaster prevention activities in many regions. When you think of disaster prevention activities, you probably have an image of being "hard" or "dark and plain".

Therefore, we planned a disaster prevention event that can be enjoyed by children and the elderly as a disaster prevention activity for "companies and governments". We have planned an experience-based event that will impress you by participating in it, and we have called it "Let's learn, let's play." Here, we propose local disaster prevention events.

①Earthquake car experience

It is a car that allows you to experience the tremors of past earthquakes. It can move forward, backward, left and right, and up and down.

Although it is not from this disaster prevention and safety association, I watched a video of this experience on Youtube . In detail, you can experience earthquake intensity 3 to 7 in the seismic vehicle, and chairs are placed in the middle to surround it with desks. Four men were sitting in that chair. Because earthquakes with a seismic intensity of 3 or 4 occur frequently in Japan, it seemed that there was a margin when the seismic intensity was 3 or 4. However, when the seismic intensity reached 5 or 6 , the way my head shook changed, and I desperately held down my desk to reduce the shaking. Furthermore, when the seismic intensity reached 7 , even if I desperately held down my desk, my head would shake and my body would jump. As for my impression, if I observe a seismic intensity of 5, even Japanese people who are accustomed to earthquakes will not be able to afford a seismic intensity of 5 or more. This is because the desk and chair of this earthquake generator are fixed. I think that desks and chairs are not fixed in ordinary houses. As a result, I thought that the desk would move, I would not be able to stabilize myself, and I would fall out of the chair.

The earthquake simulation car experience is a valuable experience that allows ordinary people to feel the shaking of a large earthquake. By experiencing the earthquake simulation car, you can experience the effects of earthquakes on buildings and the human body, and deepen your understanding of earthquake risks and earthquake resistance.

②Emergency Food Grand Prix

Participants taste the food and vote for the most delicious food to decide the Grand Prix. By eating the actual disaster food, you can experience what the food is like at the time of the earthquake.

This Grand Prix has several entry categories. It is divided into `` SDGs efforts category '', `` rice / carbohydrate category '', `` canned food category '', `` retort category '', `` rolling stock category '', `` health / allergy correspondence category '', and `` special award ''.

The companies that won awards ranged from large entrepreneurs to small and medium-sized enterprises, and we learned that all of them are seriously working on the field of emergency food. In addition, it is a good opportunity for consumers to voluntarily eat it, and I believe that we are conveying the deliciousness of emergency food.

summary

The purpose of the play disaster prevention project is to create opportunities for people who are not very interested in disaster prevention to learn about disaster prevention. At the disaster prevention athletic meet, you can experience disaster prevention divided into five phases and enjoy learning about disaster prevention while moving your body. The competition is planned according to region and participants, and the contents are more cooperative for the team.

Some of the events held in the disaster prevention athletic meet include a disaster prevention quiz rally, a disaster prevention obstacle relay, a disaster prevention borrowed item relay, and an evacuation site gesture game. Through these events, participants can learn knowledge about disaster prevention and appropriate actions.

The Disaster Prevention and Safety Association also holds disaster prevention events to promote community disaster prevention education. You can see that they are working to raise awareness of safety in the region.

These awareness-raising events are a great way for everyone to raise their awareness of disaster prevention, as they can have fun while gaining knowledge and experience about disaster prevention.
